in case you're wondering

My photo
if there was every a perfect example of your stereotypic homeschooled Catholic girl- it would not be me. my Faith is my foundation. my family is amazing. my friends are the greatest blessing imaginable. my life is good.

alas! you have been foiled!

something I strive to remember to do is "let loose"

because we forget so often to laugh at ourselves, to be playful, to revert to our childhood and just be goofy. we suppress innocent play that was instilled in us as kids. I try to let my "inner child" out as often as possible. and yes, I can and will be serious when I need to be, but life is meant to be lived to the fullest. God calls us to this. I simply cannot understand how it is possible for anyone to sulk around and take everything extremely seriously. lighten up people!
Life is good.
and it can be such an extraordinarily experience if you make it.
no I'm not saying let's go out and party our faces off, spend all our money, and not have a care in the world. but we need to take some time out of our everyday routine to do crazy awesome  (and legal!) things! because by being playful we spread joy. and by spreading joy we spread Christ's love.

so...do something goofy. be creative. have fun!

In case you're looking for inspiration ;)

you've got a little something on your forehead...

HAPPY LENT!!!! As strange as it sounds, this is absolutely one of my favorite times of the year! When else do you basically get a chance for holiness smashed in your face?! (mk, that sounds odd but its the truth) since I'm giving up the wonderful world of Facebook I figured it would give me some time to actually keep up with this blog nonsense :)

this year for Lent - I'm giving up Facebook, sweets, and going out to eat. its going to be an awesome 40 days!

welcome back

new hair cut :)

why is it that I always find time to write a blog entry when there is homework and laundry to do? such if life...

I am now a college-trekking Fairhope resident. Life is good! I've made some wonderful friends over here and been able to strengthen my faith (since the church is now a parking lot away from my back door) I've been missing my favorite seminarians and my Virginia peoples, but I'm making stuff work.

Recently, I've had little inner conflicts with the Big Guy up there about my vocation. Not whether or not I'm called to be married/single/religious - I've known I'm called to marriage for quite some time now. But its just the when/where/who that has been irking me. (this could possibly mean there's a potential lurking around...) I am so weird because I don't get excited about "liking" someone, it annoys me. I can't exactly explain why aside from the fact that I have a difficulty not thinking about a certain person once I've started thinking about that person in that certain way. (have I completely confused you yet?) oh wells. God knows and I do not. I just need to remember that. Except it sucks big time when you are to the point of begging God to either make the certain someone ask you out or get run over by a truck because you just want your answer NOW.  I apologize for sounding so incredibly human right about now :P God knows what is best for me so I just need to wait around for a bit while He sorts my crazy life out.
Prayers please. I would love to stop pulling my hair out over this silliness :)

my b

uh oh look I have a blog! oops. might have let this little sucker slip to the back burner for a little while.
well I have good excuses - I spent Thanksgiving moving to a new city and have simply been a tad overwhelmed by finishing up school. but hopefully I'll be able to return sometime in the near future to continue assisting anyone out there who actually ready this with their time wasting :P

stay beautiful

Confessions 11.17.10

and we're back to Wednesday once again! So a quick side story before I begin is the fact that my father and I came to a very important milestone in my life....the acceptance of the fact that yes his precious little girl will get married (no specific person/time set at the time of this post though)
"MaryC, where do you see yourself in five years?"
"well, hopefully at Steubenville getting my masters in Theology or starting somewhere with my bachelors in Theology as a youth minister....or getting married. thats the one I'm aiming for."
"yeah me too."
*and MaryC pauses to try to process that her "you'd make an awesome nun" father has just uttered* :P

happy wednesday :)

Confessions:

1. If being nutritional smart didn't matter, I would eat Mexican food every single night. Fajitas are my best friend.

2. look, I like going by MC. sure MaryC is fine, but please don't call me Mary. it just means you don't know me (or your my mother yelling at me...)

3. I've never kissed a boy *gasp*

wed-nes-day

This semester wednesdays haven't particularly been my favorite. but at the same time they have. with my crazy schedule, wednesday is the one day of the week I don't actually have a chance to go home at any point after leaving the house at 7:20am. (I get home late, so I don't see my family at all...) BUT even though its sad that I say "see you tomorrow!" to my family on wednesdays, I like them. they give me a sense of being a big kid out in the world alone. lame? yes. do I care? nope.

about 17 seconds ago, I decided for your blog-reading pleasure, wednesdays will be my "Midweek Confessions" - they may be relative to current events. they may be completely random and make no sense to you due to their inside joke saturation. you'll just have to check back each wednesday to find out ;) lets see if this works...

11/10/10 "Confessions"

1. I'm listening to P!nk as I type this and not ashamed. she's my rage jam. even though I'm not "enraged" at the moment

2. I will not be eating lunch today because I'm too cheap to buy stupid expensive school food (but I somehow managed to justify paying $5 for coffee...damn you starbucks)

3. there is only one song a guy has to sing me to completely win my heart...you'll have to figure that one out on your own ;)

hey give it back!

have you ever felt completely out of control of what's going on in life? ME TOO! I feel like school, family, friends, and everything under the sun is out of my hands and I just need to flow with it. Well, sometimes that may be the case, but I simply need those little things and quick moments that at least give me the false sense for a short time that I'm in charge here...but I'm not.

the one odd thing I take joy in doing is cleaning my room. no it doesn't happen that often but when it does, I go at it. I can't just "pick up real quick" I have to completely analyze the position of every little thing and be certain I like where it is. am I type A? hahaha. you're not funny. The only thing thats actually in order in my 'dorm' (I call it that since its about the size of one) is my movie collection. but honestly, when this little area is organized, I get the sense that my life is a little more organized due to my doing. and hence, in my control....

and after I pick up my laundry, reorganize my desk, arrange my stuffed animals, and straighten my shelves - this is normally the time that God-forsaken wooden duck that belongs to Stephen usually falls from its home on the top shelf...just the good Lord reminding me no matter how orderly I attempt to make my life, I have very little control over what happens throughout it...but total control of how I react to every day :)

^^it won't stay this way very long ;)
