uh oh look I have a blog! oops. might have let this little sucker slip to the back burner for a little while.
well I have good excuses - I spent Thanksgiving moving to a new city and have simply been a tad overwhelmed by finishing up school. but hopefully I'll be able to return sometime in the near future to continue assisting anyone out there who actually ready this with their time wasting :P
stay beautiful

- if there was every a perfect example of your stereotypic homeschooled Catholic girl- it would not be me. my Faith is my foundation. my family is amazing. my friends are the greatest blessing imaginable. my life is good.

Confessions 11.17.10
and we're back to Wednesday once again! So a quick side story before I begin is the fact that my father and I came to a very important milestone in my life....the acceptance of the fact that yes his precious little girl will get married (no specific person/time set at the time of this post though)
"MaryC, where do you see yourself in five years?"
"well, hopefully at Steubenville getting my masters in Theology or starting somewhere with my bachelors in Theology as a youth minister....or getting married. thats the one I'm aiming for."
"yeah me too."
*and MaryC pauses to try to process that her "you'd make an awesome nun" father has just uttered* :P
happy wednesday :)
Confessions:
1. If being nutritional smart didn't matter, I would eat Mexican food every single night. Fajitas are my best friend.
2. look, I like going by MC. sure MaryC is fine, but please don't call me Mary. it just means you don't know me (or your my mother yelling at me...)
3. I've never kissed a boy *gasp*

wed-nes-day
This semester wednesdays haven't particularly been my favorite. but at the same time they have. with my crazy schedule, wednesday is the one day of the week I don't actually have a chance to go home at any point after leaving the house at 7:20am. (I get home late, so I don't see my family at all...) BUT even though its sad that I say "see you tomorrow!" to my family on wednesdays, I like them. they give me a sense of being a big kid out in the world alone. lame? yes. do I care? nope.
about 17 seconds ago, I decided for your blog-reading pleasure, wednesdays will be my "Midweek Confessions" - they may be relative to current events. they may be completely random and make no sense to you due to their inside joke saturation. you'll just have to check back each wednesday to find out ;) lets see if this works...
11/10/10 "Confessions"
1. I'm listening to P!nk as I type this and not ashamed. she's my rage jam. even though I'm not "enraged" at the moment
2. I will not be eating lunch today because I'm too cheap to buy stupid expensive school food (but I somehow managed to justify paying $5 for coffee...damn you starbucks)
3. there is only one song a guy has to sing me to completely win my heart...you'll have to figure that one out on your own ;)

hey give it back!
have you ever felt completely out of control of what's going on in life? ME TOO! I feel like school, family, friends, and everything under the sun is out of my hands and I just need to flow with it. Well, sometimes that may be the case, but I simply need those little things and quick moments that at least give me the false sense for a short time that I'm in charge here...but I'm not.
the one odd thing I take joy in doing is cleaning my room. no it doesn't happen that often but when it does, I go at it. I can't just "pick up real quick" I have to completely analyze the position of every little thing and be certain I like where it is. am I type A? hahaha. you're not funny. The only thing thats actually in order in my 'dorm' (I call it that since its about the size of one) is my movie collection. but honestly, when this little area is organized, I get the sense that my life is a little more organized due to my doing. and hence, in my control....
and after I pick up my laundry, reorganize my desk, arrange my stuffed animals, and straighten my shelves - this is normally the time that God-forsaken wooden duck that belongs to Stephen usually falls from its home on the top shelf...just the good Lord reminding me no matter how orderly I attempt to make my life, I have very little control over what happens throughout it...but total control of how I react to every day :)
^^it won't stay this way very long ;)

STOP
....in the name of love! have you taken some time out of your "super busy" schedule to thank God for loving you today? have you talked to Him at all lately? when was the last time you thought about God before reading this post?
I cannot stress enough how critical it is to always make time for God during your day. I don't mean you better run to the nearest church and kneel down for six hours every day, but you should spend time talking and listening to Him daily. You may not have the opportunity to make it to daily Mass or pray a rosary every day, but even just five minutes of turning off the radio and not pulling out your phone to just talk to God will bring you closer to Him. Start small - don't turn the radio while your driving to school and instead have a conversation with God (its awkward at first - you get funny looks sometimes on airport blvd when you look like you're some freak talking to yourself) but you'll start slowly but surely strengthening your relationship with Christ. Say a Hail Mary while brushing your teeth, carry a holy card in your wallet and pull it out randomly to recite to yourself, or (if you really wanna weird your friends out) get to Mass frequently. not just on Sundays. it'll impact your faith tremendously.
So today, I ask you to do something extra with your Faith. Simply sit down, take a breath, look around you, and thank God for creating this beautiful world for us. think that's too simple? then close your eyes and say an Our Father. see? its just that easy.
Make time for God. He made time for you.

for some good wholesome mooosic
"I think I figured it out. we need to be together like the shore and the sea."
so I figured I would have a little time and share my latest 'lullaby'
this one is Jon Foreman. aaaaamazing. probably one of the the best lyricist I've ever encountered. this song "In My Arms" is from the view of a man completely pouring out his love for his wife in very simple words. this song is kinda how I want my husband to relate to me. yeah I'm a sucker for flowers and fun jokes, but when its just the two of us sitting together, I want him to be able to look at me and say "I dream to hold you in my arms. I love you." and for that to mean the world to me...this song is how I hope my future husband feels right about now. he dreams to hold me in his arms. because I sure as heck am looking forward to being held in his :)
In My Arms - Jon Foreman
I promised myself I wouldn't turn this into a "my husband better be this! this! aaaand this! and have curly hair. oh! and shares my passions in life....like being Catholic" kinda blog. maybe every once in a while I'll sneak in a summary or just my thoughts on the masculine gender ;) that monologue as a story. hehehe
